The mission of Open Arms Animal Rescue is to help homeless, abandoned animals and to advocate for animals everywhere.

Animal welfare organizations estimate that 2.4 - 4 million healthy cats and dogs are put to death in shelters every year simply because there are no homes for them. Countless millions more face lives of hardship on the streets, suffer at the hands of abusive individuals, or are abandoned by their humans.
These animals need immediate help right now, which includes:
Low cost spay/neuter
Caretaking teams for feral cat colonies
Shelters and feeding stations
Help with medical bills
Foster and permanent placements
OAAR helps with all these crucial immediate needs.
OAAR Long-term Goals
We also address the long-term needs required to permanently solve these problems using:
Public education and awareness building for adults and children
Spay/neuter for all companion animals
Adoption from shelters and rescue organizations to reduce pet overpopulation and the horrors of puppy mills
Stronger laws regarding animal welfare, cruelty, and exotic animals
Responsible pet ownership - pets are faithful companions who are loyal to their humans and deserve a lifelong commitment in return
More volunteers involved in animal welfare services and advocacy
Fewer homeless, abandoned and feral animals and lower euthanasia rates at shelters and animal control organizations.
OAAR supports the Shelter Animals Count efforts to create a national database of animals in our nation’s shelters.
